You ever look back and think, “I knew better… so why didn’t I do better?”

It’s not that you didn’t care.

You just didn’t have the strength to follow through.

Right before He died, Jesus told His disciples,

“Watch and pray so that you won’t fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” — Matthew 26:41

They had walked with Him for three years.

They Heard His teachings.

They saw his miracles.

And still — when the pressure came, they ran.

Not because their hearts were cold,

but because they weren’t ready.

Jesus knew what was coming.

That’s why He told them to pray — not later, but that very night.

Because prayer wasn’t just strength for Him.

It was meant to be strength for them.

Their spirit was willing.

But their character was weak.

When they fell asleep, Jesus stayed awake.

When they ran, He didn’t.

He stood in the gap they couldn’t fill — and He still does today.

So when you feel weak, don’t hide it.

Bring it to Him.

Because prayer isn’t how you prove your strength —

it’s how you receive His.
