“What sign do you show us for doing these things?” — John 2:18
Jesus walks into the Temple and overturns tables without asking permission.
And the leaders don’t ask what He’s doing — they ask who authorized Him.
That question still echoes today.
We’re trained to believe authority comes from approval, titles, platforms, or invitations.
But Jesus doesn’t borrow authority — He embodies it.
His authority flows from who He belongs to, not who endorses Him.
And when you belong to Jesus, the same is true for you.
You may be overlooked.
You may be unrecognized.
You may never get the room’s approval.
But heaven already sent you.
Jesus, free me from waiting on permission You never required. Teach me to live from who I belong to, not who approvesme. Amen.
