“The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way.” — John 4:50
Most of us spend our lives trying to stay in control.
We plan.
We prepare.
We build systems that make life feel manageable.
But the father in this story reached a moment where none of those things worked anymore. His son was dying, and everything he normally relied on had failed him.
So he did the only thing left: he walked toward Jesus.
That’s where faith often begins — not when life is organized, but when we reach the edge of what we can control. When the illusion of self-sufficiency collapses, space opens for trust.
Sometimes the very moment that feels like everything falling apart is actually the moment God begins something new.
🙏 Father, when I reach the limits of my control, help me turn toward You instead of trying to carry everything alone. Teach me to trust You in the moments I cannot fix myself. Amen.
