“Pilate said to them, ‘Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?’” — Matthew 27:22

The people wanted change.

But not the kind Jesus came to bring.

They wanted Him to confront Rome —

He came to confront their hearts.

So they chose Barabbas.

He was messy, but at least he made sense.

Jesus was too honest.

Too gentle.

Too costly.

And when the Messiah doesn’t match our expectations…

We’re tempted to trade Him in.

Don’t do it.

The one who feels inconvenient…

Is actually the one who saves.
