When Jesus died, the world didn’t pause.
It shifted.
For 27 chapters, Matthew has been whispering that a new Kingdom is breaking in —
quietly at first… then unmistakably.
A star lit the sky.
The blind saw.
The lame walked.
Storms obeyed.
Demons fled.
Jesus tied up the strong man and plundered his house.
But at the cross, the whisper became a detonation.
The veil tore — the distance between God and humanity collapsed.
The earth shook — creation convulsed as its Maker died.
Rocks split — the old world fractured.
Tombs opened — death lost its grip before Easter even arrived.
Holy ones rose — the firstfruits of a new humanity.
A Roman confessed — the nations saw the true King.
Women remained — faithfulness standing where fear told them to run.
Matthew wants you to feel this:
This wasn’t just a death.
This was new creation exploding into the world.
And here’s the hope for you today:
Wherever death has tried to root itself in your life —
in your joy, your purpose, your courage —
the resurrection is already breaking in.
You’re not living in the old world anymore.
You’re standing at the fault line where everything changed.
🙏 Father in Heaven, let the new creation You began at the cross break into my life today. Let resurrection power touch every place that feels buried. Amen.
