John 1:26-27
John answered them, “I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know, 27 even he who comes after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.”
John says something quietly devastating:
“Among you stands One you do not know.”
Jesus is already present.
Already near.
Already at work.
But unnoticed.
Sometimes the reason we don’t recognize God
isn’t because He’s absent —
it’s because He’s not showing up the way we expected.
We look for big signs.
Clear answers.
Immediate change.
Meanwhile, God may be standing in the ordinary,
the slow process,
the quiet obedience.
The invitation today is simple:
Pay attention.
God may already be closer than you think.
