Today’s 1 Minute Daily Devotional: You Don’t Have to Be the Answer
John 1:20
He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”
John the Baptist is asked who he is.
And the first thing he says is not who he is —
but who he is not.
“I am not the Christ.”
There’s freedom in that sentence.
Most of us are tired because we’re trying to be the answer for people.
The fixer.
The savior.
The one who holds everything together.
But John reminds us:
You were never meant to carry what only Jesus can carry.
Your role isn’t to save anyone.
It’s to point them toward the One who already has.
And when you stop trying to be the Messiah,
you make room for the real one.
🙏 Jesus, help me release what was never mine to carry. Amen.
