We tend to think darkness means rejection of God.
But Jesus says something more personal.
Sometimes we stay hidden not because we hate God —
but because we’re afraid of what honesty might cost us.
Darkness can be self-protection.
Avoidance.
Selective faith.
We invite Jesus into the safe rooms —
but keep the locked doors shut.
Not because we don’t believe —
but because being fully known feels risky.
And yet, the light doesn’t come to embarrass you.
It comes to free you.
God is not trying to expose you to punish you.
He’s exposing what’s keeping you from life.
🙏 Father, show me where I’ve been hiding — and meet me there with Your grace. Amen.
