📨 THEKNGDOM Daily Devotional | Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025
Ever tried to do the right thing…
and still made everything worse?
Peter wasn’t trying to rebel.
He was trying to help.
But in his fear — he reached for a sword.
The night Jesus was arrested,
chaos erupted.
Soldiers. Torches. Betrayal.
And in the middle of it all, Peter snaps.
He draws a blade — and swings.
“Put your sword back… those who take the sword will perish by it.” — Matthew 26:52
Peter meant well.
He was trying to protect the One he loved.
But his weapon didn’t match the mission.
Because sometimes we act from love…
but in the wrong direction.
We strike when we’re supposed to surrender.
We react when we’re supposed to trust.
We reach for control — when God is calling us to let go.
And Jesus stops us — not to shame us,
but to remind us:
You can’t win Kingdom battles with earthly weapons.
So what sword are you still holding?
Withdrawal?
Passive aggression?
Or proving your worth through performance?
What if the real strength
isn’t swinging to protect…
but surrendering to love?

Prayer: Father, help me lay down what looks like strength — and trust the power of
Your love instead. Amen
