“He is not here; He has risen.” — Matthew 28:6

Matthew doesn’t write the resurrection like a poem or a parable.

He writes it like a reporter.

A named tomb.

Named women.

Named guards.

A known location.

A body that was there… and then wasn’t.

And a risen Jesus people touched, held, and worshiped.

In the ancient world, almost nothing is recorded with this level of detail —

not battles, not coronations, not the rise and fall of kings.

But this?

Matthew anchors it in history so the world will know:

Death truly lost.

Not symbolically.

Not spiritually.

Physically.

Historically.

Publicly.

And here’s the hope for us:

If the resurrection really happened in His body,

it will really happen in yours.

You don’t have to fear death anymore.

Not your last breath.

Not your future.

Not the grave.

Because Jesus stepped into death, walked out, and said:

“You’re coming with Me.”

🙏 Lord, thank You that the resurrection is not a metaphor, but a promise. Help me live unafraid, knowing death has already been defeated. Amen.
