“There will not be left here one stone upon another.” — Matthew 24:2

Some things don’t shatter overnight.

They erode — quietly, gradually — until one day, they’re gone.

The disciples couldn’t imagine a world without the Temple. It was more than a building — it was the heart of their worship, their identity, their security. But Jesus wasn’t impressed, because he saw through it all. And He knew it wouldn’t last.

We all have temples. Things we build our lives around — jobs, relationships, routines, even spiritual systems. And sometimes, God lets them fall. Not to punish us. But to show us that there’s only one who’s actually unshakable.

Lord, tear down what needs to fall in my life, so I can stand on what lasts. In your name, Amen.
